In December, 1989 I was in a single motor vehicle accident on black ice in Massachusetts. Coming down a hill, spun out of control and hit 2 utility poles, (one holding up the other), on the drivers side of the car. I hit the drivers door, pushing the door to the floor shift of the car, crushing my in the seat. This was the last I knew until I heard a person saying "grab my tire iron, we are losing her". From what I was told at the hospital, a police officer pryed open the door, gave me CPR and got me into the ambulance. The hospital had told me that I died at the scene and if not for the officer, I would not be typing this right now. I met him a year later and he told me the whole story. So back to my story, I have had 9 knee surgeries, several procedures on my back and to this day, live in chronic 24/7/365 pain. (24 hrs, 7 days/week, 365 days/year). There is no relief. Its just part of my life now. Does anyone know where I'm coming from. Oh by the way, at the time of my wreck I was told I would never walk again. Within one year of the MVA, I walked and still am. Doctors told me at first I would never walk, then they told me I would be back in wheel chair by the age of 40, well guess what I proved them wrong twice. I'm 47 and still walking, slow but still walking. As you see by my birthday, I'm a Taurus (bull headed), so I just wanted to share a little about me. Hope I didn't bore you all with my accident information. Take care everyone and hope to hear from you all soon.
