Been waiting for approval from Railroad M'care 2 have my 2nd SCS trial done for LBP. Would be utilizing subq leads. Have right total hip replacement. 3rd hip due 2 Legg~Calves~Perthes disease as a child. Last Oct orthopedic surgeon told me that I was wearing out the plastic shell/liner. The stem that goes down my femur/thigh bone is ok. Have had this hip in since June 1, 2001. He said he thought I could get at least another year out of it "unless" I began 2 have 'pain'.... The pain started approx a month ago. So I have appt w/ortho on Mon. My pain physician says now to 'wait' 4 the trial of the 2nd SCS until "after" I have the hip surgery done. Now w/what I thought was flare up of rt SI joint due to 3 day horse show event. But it turns out to be coming from my lumbar disc. Was finally able to come off the MSER and now on Percocet 3X day as needed for the hip & lower back pain. What to do, what to do?!?! Wait 'til Monday I suppose is all I can do. When I am walking this thing 'grabs' me & I almost go to the floor. Feels just like a 'knife' in there! Ouch. I am not, nor have I ever been one to complain. So says my family & friends. I always just "push on thru" no one knows the pain that I have/feel. But on this day I am just sorta "overwhelmed" kwim? Was going down to the hunting club w/my DH for just some R&R but just can not ride an hour. Nope just don't think that I can do it! Thanks for allowing me to "vent" I must admit that I do feel somewhat better now! lol Have a blessed day all. I shall continue to take it "one day at a time"...Luv, support & hugs! Sorry to hear that you are in such terrible pain. Do be extremely careful until Monday - sounds like your disc might be on the verge of rupturing. I had a disc rupture and put pressure on 2 nerves 3 years + ago before I had my spine fusion done. Trust me when I say, you do not want to have this happen to you. My advice is to move as little as possible this weekend. Anything, however small, can be the last straw and rupture the disc. I know you are very physically active and it will be very difficult for you to do but if there is the slightest chance of a rupture, you need to do whatever necessary to prevent a rupture. I hope today is less painful for you.

VEM...

Well, dear person, reach inside and grab your fighting spirit. Pull it out, and put it on the front burner. As you know, the Lord never promised life to be heaven on earth, and chronic pain is certainly not anything but hell. However, the Lord never said that he would test us beyond our limits, so my prayer is for you to pass this problem as a test that you can get through. Oh, by the way, venting is a part of the solution to passing the test, so go for it. Reach in, pull out the fighting spirit, and go for it.
