To find pain management doctor in Atlanta, click on the "Find Help" button on top of page.
Does it work? I can only outline my experience: spinal cord injury 1999, developed chronic unremitting pain requiring heavy narcotics with lots of breakthrough pain. Went through the injections without improvement, just numb leg for a few days.
Had stim trial; not overwhelming but did notice I was not requiring as many meds for breakthrough pain. Not crying at work due to breakthrough pain.
Had perm implanted 10 years ago with 3 items on bucket list: be able to walk longer, get my private pilot license back, go snowboarding.
It took a couple of years to get off all meds, and pass FAA flight to get my pilot license back
Through lots of work, starting walking, then running (my legs would rather run than walk) I was able to run a 5K, then train and complete a sprint triathlon (swimming, biking, running) without using my cane. (My training for 5K included being a bike medic for marathons, which entailed riding my bike along the marathon route to monitor for and help any runners that become ill or injured.)
After I finished my triathlon my husband took me snowboarding; I cried after my first day, realizing dreams really do come true, thanks to my SCS. (See my profile picture)
As well, I have travelled internationally on business.
I cannot tell you if the SCS will work for you, but I wish you the best of luck, and a fraction of the improvement I have had in my life since my implant

Pain Consultants of Atlanta I've been going to this group for over 2 years. I live South so I see Dr. Ghandi and his P.A.'s are amazing as well. Dr. Duralde is the main doctor for this group. Hope this helps

Has anyone had this implant that has both cervical and lumbar pain? I see the application to relieve pain in the lower back and legs, but nothing for cervical. I had a C-3 to C-7 fusion that has created more pain than prior to the surgery. But, also have pain at F-5 for a less than successful discectomy. Thanks!

I suggest you call an ambassador; when you call or fill out form to set up you can request to speak with one with c-spine stimulator. If you are looking at Boston Scientific go to and there is a form to fill out and phone number to call.

I have it for both areas. Had the lower back and legs implanted in 2005 and a revision in 2014 to add the upper back and Left shoulder.

Hi, Findingmoore. I am going to be getting the trial stimulator in June and I am wondering if you had to have another device implanted for the shoulder or if you just needed new wires/leads added for the shoulder? I am wracked with spasms and pain in my lumbar spine and my shoulder/neck area and I would love to have both areas addressed at the same time. I would greatly appreciate it if you could tell me what your experience was with adding the shoulder to your lumbar spine issues. Thanks for helping me out with this!!
